How can different light source change original colour of the object

 Colour Interaction through Selfies

To study colour interaction I took selfies with the blue, pink and white lights of fairy lights individually as well as switched on simultaneously, wearing a grey coloured T-shirt.

While clicking the above pictures, I had kept the pink light source below my face. We can see how my face colour changes from pinkish brown to brownish pink with the increasing intensity of light. Slowly, the the white portio of the eyes is also visible. The colour of the grey t-shirt with white lining also changes from shade to tint. As the light is from below, we can see all the depth zones of my face lit and vice- versa. A kind of mystery can be felt in the images.

Fig. 4                                   Fig.5
In the same way, while clicking the above pictures, with blue light source below my face, We can see how my face colour changes from dark electric blue to light blue with the increasing intensity of light. The colour of the grey t-shirt with white lining also changes from shade to tint. As the light is from below, we can see all the depth zones of my face lit and vice- versa.
With blue, it gives horror and dark feelings.

In the same way, while clicking the above pictures, with white light source below my face with the room left dark, we can see blue tint on my skin when the light is dim as the blue coloured surface of the fairy lights are still there, but in the second photo, skin colour is almost altered to skyish white. Even if the light source is from below, we can see the face and all the features which was in dark before.
With white light and background being dark as well as the altered skin colour gives a feeling some one from future has come.

With all the above exercises, I understand the vital role of colour, light and shadow in conveying emotions as well as mood and can be used as required. Not only does the time of the day that matters, the direction of the source of light matters a lot.
