Drawing that catches my attention!

It has been long that I haven't really sketched observing the surroundings. With the commencement of Fundamentals of Visual Design, I actually went back to see if I can still do it or not.

Yes, I took the time to observe and draw, there are few mistakes I could find and also strokes haven't been as smooth as it used to be. This proves that I should carry on the practice of sketching once again.

A sketch from my bedroom, looking towards one corner of my living room. Here, I was trying to study the shadow created.
Medium used: Mixed on Paper

p.s. I have a thing for yellow and black sketches.

With the slippers on floor mat i was trying to explore different rendering styles to depict different textures of the floor mat through black pen.

With black waterproof ink directly on paper I tried to capture one corner of the garden in our balcony. This was a practice to see if I can capture the essence quickly with a brush!

I love sketching my baba. The above sketch is a quick one while he was praying and then while he was practicing pranayama.

p.s. I avoid using eraser. I like all the journey of the sketch to be there!

Capturing the green, looking outside the other balcony. With this sketch I was studying perspective in the space as well as the plant and the contrast created by the play of light and shadow.

Plant Study

Here, I was trying to explore water colour, I tried to question can i depict the texture of the leaf or the softness of the bougainvillea flower petals and shadow of the leaves on each other.

A lot of practice needed to get the softness of the flower....

Still Life study

With this still life drawing, I was trying to observe the shades and tones in the folds of the fabric and how to depict in the painting. I have done this after many years and truly enjoyed the process of painting layer by layer with observing the form, texture, character of the objects and fruits and especially reflection of the surrounding on the steel surface.
